My mahi as a writer & strategist

I've been writing for print and digital publications since 2006 when I began my journey as an advertorial writer for the Manawatu Standard. Since then I've taken on various writing and writing adjacent roles including: reviewer, journalist, critic, editor, academic author, community consultant, strategic advisor and social solutions and innovation specialist. My work has been featured in a range of publications such as The Manawatu Standard, The Tribune, Melbourne City Newspaper, Australian Stage, The New Zealand Herald, Canvas, Metro, DANZ magazine, and The Big Idea. You can also find some of my theatre reviews on Radio NZ. 

As an academic writer and researcher I've  publishing several articles and book chapters. You can read Performing Difference Differently: New Ways of Doing, Old Ways of Seeing and Power and Privilege: The Role of the Reviewer in Responding to Indigenous Theatre both article address the state of theatre in New Zealand and are open access.

I have also built upon close to 20 years of experience creating and implementing strategies for community activation, participatory research and social change, especially around racial equity and ethnic communities. I have worked with Active Auckland, Ministry of Youth Development and University of Auckland; and have also written various proposals and action plans for central government.
